Effects of polysaccharides from polygonatum on fatigue in mice

Objective: To investigate the antifatigue effect of polygonatum polysaccharides.Methods: Healthy male rats were divided into low-dose group,middle-dose group,high-dose group,and control group.The control group was given distilled water.The other groups were given different doses of of polygonatum polysaccharides.After 28 days,recorded the swimming time and prolong the climbing pole time by stopwatch.Observed the effects on the content of the plasmaurea,bloodlactic acid,liver glycogen,muscle glycogen.Results:Polygonatum polysaccharide enhanced the swimming durability of mice and prolongs the climbing pole time.The content of both serumlactates and plasmaurea decreased,but the content of both liver glycogen and muscle glycogen increases.Conclusion: Polygonatum polysaccharide has antifatigue effect.
