Efficacy observation of batroxobin injection combined with intratympanic dexamethasone for treating sudden deafness

LONG Zhi-qing;Department of Otolaryngology,Affiliated Hospital to Xiangnan University of Hunan Province;
Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of batroxobin injection combined with intratympanic dexamethasone in the treatment of sudden deafness.Methods 92 cases of patients with sudden deafness were randomly divided into the treatment group(46 cases) and the control group(46 cases),conventional treatment and hyperbaric oxygen therapy were used to both groups,while batroxobin injection and intratympanic dexamethasone were added to the treatment group.The effectiveness was compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate was 82.61%(38 cases) in the treatment group and 56.52%(26 cases) in the control group,the treatment group was higher than that of control group,there was significant difference(P0.05).The total effective rate in patients with duration 7 d was higher than that of duration ≥ 7 d in both groups,with significant difference(P0.05).After treatment,pure tone audiometry(PTA) in treatment group was better than that of control group(P0.05).Conclusion Based on conventional medicine and hyperbaric oxygen therapy,the combination of batroxobin and intratympanic dexamethasone can gain significant effect for patients with sudden deafness,which can improve patient′s hearing,and the earlier the treatment,the better the outcome.
