Expression and significance of GRP and GRPR in colorectal cancer

LIAO Jiang-tao;LI Juan;CHEN Yin-yun;Department of Gastroenterology,Older Hospital;
Objective To explore the expression of gastrin releasing peptide(GRP) and its receptors(GRPR) in colorectal cancer,and to provide basis for treatment of colorectal cancer. Methods 64 patients with colorectal cancer treated in our hospital were selected and their systematic materials were collected.The expression of GRP and GRPR was detected by immunohistochemistry technology and the relation between GRP and the prognosis and distant metastasis of colorectal cancer as well as its sensibility and specificity were analyzed. Results The positive expression rates of GRP and GRPR in colorectal cancer tissue were 76.56% and 89.06%,respectively,which were positively associated.GRP and GRPR could partly predict the distant metastasis of colorectal cancer,with sensibility and specificity as 68.7%,70.5%and 69.8%,66.7%. Conclusion There is evident expression of GRP and GRPR in colorectal cancer,which can be used as early predictors of colorectal cancer;and intervention of GRP and GRPR expression is a potential target in treatment of colorectal cancer.
