Immunoprotective efficacy of the Eimeria tenella hybrid strain against its parental Eimeria tenella strains

In this study,the immunoprotective effeicacy of Eimeria tenella hybrid strain was assessed by immunizing AA broiler chickens with E. tenella hybrid strain and challenged by the parent strains. The OPG,the feces score and cecum score,the protective rate,and the average body weight gain were examined. The results showed that the E. tenella hybrid strain could induce significant immunoprotection against Guangzhou,Changchun and Heilongjiang strains,with a protective rate of 83.9%,79.1% and 81.2% ,respectively. The feces score and cecum score of hybrid strain was significantly lower than that of parental strains (p0.05). Chickens immunized with hybrid strains produced higher levels of CD4+ T and CD8+ T cells,which played important roles in immunoprotection against E. tenella.
