Depression and anxiety state of the patients with type 2 diabetes

Objective To investigate the depression and anxiety state of the patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods We have rated 48 patients with type 2 diabetes using self rating depressing scale(SDS),self rating anxiety scale(SAS).Results The scores of SDS,SAS in the patients were significantly higher than the norm.The scores of SDS,SAS in the patients with complications and higher FBS were notably higher than those of normal controls. The score of SDS in the patients injecting insulin were significantly higher than the patients without it and the scores of SAS between the two groups had not notable difference. There were no significant differences of SDS,SAS scores between the patients with different seses,duration and labor type.Conclusion The patients with type 2 diabetes have significant emotion of depression and anxiety.The depression and anxiety of the patients were influenced by many factors.
