A table for self assessing quality of life

Objective To give the reference range of each rank of Quality of Life. Methods There are 16 items included in “TDL's table of self assessing Quality of Life” as well as other characteristics such as sex,age,occupation,education,et al.5 or 10 scores is given to each item.389 healthy volunteers were assessed by themselves. The total score is obtained by adding all scores from all of the 16 items.Results The mean total score of Quality of Life is 85.74,and the standard deviation is 10.86,and the median score is 88.Each rank of Quality of Life and its reference range is showed as follows:the “excellent” scores above 90,the “fine” scores from 75 to 89,the “fair” scores from 65 to 74, the “bad” scores below 65. Conclusion The method of assessing Quality of Life and each rank's reference range are useful for physicians,psychologists and behaviorists in health assessment.
