Genetic linkage map constructed by using a DH population for the flue-cured tobacco

A molecular genetic map of flue-cured tobacco was constructed with a 137 doubled haploid (DH) population from a cross of 2 flue-cured tobacco varieties Speight G-28 and NC2326 by using ISSR and RAPD as markers. The map consisted of 27 linkage groups which included 10 ISSR and 147 RAPD markers, and covered 1838.2 cM with an average distance of 14.1 cM. Among the 22 distorted markers distributed in the map, 10 markers were mapped on the linkage group LG9, and the others were mapped on diverse linkage groups respectively. It is the first molecular genetic linkage map of flue-cured tobacco in the world and is fundamental to the genetic mapping of important traits and marker-assisted selection for flue-cured tobacco.
