Effect of Three Kinds of Natural Antioxidants Scavenging Free Radicals

AIM:To study the scavenging capacities on radicals of three natural antioxidants including tea polyphenols(TP),extract of Ginkgo biloba (EGb) and extract of Phyuostachys heterocycla (EBI).METHOD:Using chemiluminescence(CuSO 4 Vc H 2O 2 Yeast suspensions system and hypoxanthine xanthine oxidase Luminol system).RESULT:All the samples show the scavenging capacities on radicals to some extent.The IC 50 on scavenging OH - of TP,Egb and EBI was 1 049,1 433, and 1 554 mg/ml respectively,and its on scavenging O 2 -· of TP,Egb and EbI was 3 079,3 425,and 3 593 μg/ml respectively.CONCLUSION:Comparing these three antioxidants,the order of clearing away both OH and O 2 -· was TPEgbEBI.
