Chemical constituents from the root of Lygodium japonicum(Thunb.) Sw.

Aim To investigate the chemical constituents of the root of Lygodium japonicum(Thunb.) Sw.Six compounds were isolated and identified as friedelin(1),hydroxyhopane(2),2α-hydroxyursolic acid(3),daucosterol(4),succinic acid(5),kaempferol-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranose-7-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside(6).Methods The constituents were isolated and purified by the column chromatography and their structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectroscopic techniques.Results and conclusions Compound 1,2,3,5,and 6 were isolated from Lygodiaceae for the first time.
