Phytophthora root and stem rot caused by Phytophthora sojae is a destructive disease in global soybean production. It is imperative to screen soybean cultivars (lines) or germplasms and identify resistance genes. In the present study,49 soybean cultivars or lines from Jilin and Liaoning provinces in China were identified using the hypocotyl inoculation technique.A comparative analysis of the reactions to 13 pathotypes of P.sojae were conducted using tested soybean cultivars and germplasms possessing Phytophthora resistance genes. The results suggested that Tiefeng 29,Jiyu 67,Shennong 9 and Jiyu 80 carried Rps3a;Tiefeng 31,Jiyu 90,Jiunong 34,Tiedou 42,Tiedou 43 and Tiedou 44 carried Rps3a and Rps1d; Liaodou 18 carried both Rps3a and Rps1k;Liaodou 17 carried Rps1d and Rps6; Liaodou21,Liaodou22 and Liaodou 24 had Rps1a; Jiunong 29 and Jiunong 35 had Rps1k.
