OBJECTIVE To investigate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of Sika antlerbase extract.METHODS The paw swelling model and auricle edema model of mice were adopted for the study on anti-inflammatory effect;by using hot-plate test and acetic acid writhing method, the analgesic effect of Sika antlerbase extract was studied.RESULTS Intraperitoneal injection of Sika antlerbase extract could effectively inhibit the carrageenin-induced paw swelling and the xylene-induced auricle edema;improve the pain threshold of the hot-plate test;at the same time reduce intra-abdominal inflammation caused by acetic acid exudation, prolong the latent period of pain.CONCLUSION Sika antlerbase extract intraperitoneal injection has obvious anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
