Objective To evaluate ET and ANP during carcinogenesis of lung cancer and their diagnostic significance by observing the level fluctuation with and without chemotherapy. Methods The serum concentration of ET and ANP before and 3 weeks after chemotherapy of 224 lung cancer patients was compared with that of 43 normal persons (control group). Results For NSCLC,the levels of ET and ANP were significantly higher than those of the control group(P0.05).They were paralled to each other and both decreased greatly. For SCLC,ET and ANP had no significant changes after chemotherapy(P0.05) when compared with normal controls. Conclusion ET and ANP play an important role in the carcinogenesis of NSCLC,and can be used as a valuable index for chemotherapy efficacy.
