Zhao Shaoping,Liu Dequn,Chao Lei,et al. Department of Orthopaedics, The Second Hospital of Tangshan,Tangshan 063000
even patients with mallet fracture of the fingers were treated with double kirschner wire fixation. The interval from injury to surgery ranged from 28 days to 13 months. The duration of followup was 14.7 months(range,7 to 26 months). Of the seven cases, all had a good result. The deformity on the dorsum of the distal interphalangeal(DIP) joint was corrected and the pain was lessoned. Range of the DIP joint motion was nearly normal. The pressure at the interfracture surface is strong enough due to K-wire fixation without interference of the circulation of the terminal tendon and fractured fragment.
