Study on the education of medication for non-hospitalized aged patients with coronary heart disease

Objective To investigate the effects of education of medication for aged deinstitutionalization patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods One hundred and five patients with CHD selected from 4 communities were given education of medication in outpatient department and community.The medication knowledge, attitude and behaviors,blood pressure, electrocardiogram, frequency of angina and drug adverse reaction status were analyzed before and after education. Results After education, the scores of medication knowledge, attitude and behaviors were increased (P0.01), systolic pressures and diastolic pressures were decreased obviously(P0.01), the frequency of drug adverse reaction was decreased significantly(P0.05). Conclusion Education of medication can help non-hospitalized aged patients with CHD to know more knowledge of medicine, improve their attitude and adopt correct behaviors.
