Study on Fixed Joint Department Characteristics and Structural Design

The fixed joint department is made up of claw,flanged and embedded connection in allusion to its structural characteristics.Based on the structure of the joints department,the equivalent physical model of preload-contact unit is put forw ard w ith contact unit used in contact area and preload unit applied in the middle of bolts.The conceptual model of the column structure for fixed joints department is established by the means of topology optimization.In the optimization,the objective is minimum of deformation for left and right guides and the volume ratio is constraint.Based on density contours,further structure design of embedded connection is done to the conceptual model.The multi-objective and multiparameter size optimization model for embedded connection department is established by means of size optimization.Parameter sensitivity analysis is carried out,and dimensions w hich affected the object are chosen to be as the optimal design variables.Taking a stand column in a vertical machining center as the object,structural design of fixed joint department is carried though and the relationship of preload and deformation of guide is analyzed.The average stiffness of X,Y,Z improves 13.16%,9.38%,3.51% respectively w ith the mass almost unchanged compared to the results of performance analysis of the original project,w hich lays a foundation for lightw eight design of supporting parts for machine tool.
