Objective To report clinic effect of applying the flap pedicled with the ascending branch of the supracarpal cutaneous branch of ulnar artery to repair skin defect on fingers. Methods To design flaps on the distal end of forearm along the interspace of ulnar bone and musculus flexor carpi ulnaris where was 4~9cm up the wrist. The area of the biggest flap was 4 cm×3 cm,and the area of the smallest flap was 2.5 cm×1.5 cm.The area of the biggest repaired raw surface was 3.5 cm×2.5 cm,and the area of the smallest repaired raw surface was 2 cm×1.5 cm.The blood-supplying artery of the flap was the ascending branch of the supracarpal cutaneous branch of ulnar artery, and the vein of the flap was superficial vein on ul- naris forearm, and the sensory nerve of the flap was the end branch of medial antebrachial cutaneous nerve. Results The flap pedicled with the ascending branch of the supracarpal cutaneous branch of ulnar artery was transplanted to repair 16 cases with small defect of skin on fingers. All flaps survived operations with not fat and clumsy shapes and good sentry recovery. In all 16 cases, there were 4 cases which are S4,9 cases which are S3~+,3 cases which weer S3,and no case which was lower than S3 (S0-S2).The rate of the cases which were higer than $3 (S3~+ and S4) was 81.25% in all cases. Conclusion Using the flap pedicled with the ascending branch of the supracarpal cutaneous branch of ulnar artery to repair skin defect on fingers is a feasi- ble solution for treatment of injuries of fingers.Because this flap has many advantages, such as it dsent't de- stroy main vascellum, the injury to the donor site is slight, and the shape and sensation of wounded finger after it was repair are satisfactory.
