Effect of Soaking by Polyethylene Glycol on Tobacco Seed Germination

To select the best concentration and time of seed soaking by PEG, this paper studied the change of seed vitality, physiology and biochemistry after Polyethylene glycol (PEG) initiated tobacco seed. The result showed that PEG could increase germination capacity and seed vitality, shorten germination time. The electric conductivity rate of seed drench was reduced obviously. The activities of peroxidase, dehydrogenase and acid phosphatase were increased clearly. 20%, 25% and 30% PEG for three days were better disposed tobacco seed.
