Combining Ability Analysis for Quantitative Traits of Japonica Hybrids

Combining ability analysis of quantitative traits were based on the experiment of Japonica hybrid by using six steriling lines and six restorer lines to make 36 crosses in incomplete diallel crosses.A analysis was made for general combining ability effects of 8 quantitative Traits and specific combining ability effects of parents crosses.The results showed that the main traits,such as plant height,panicle length,total grains per panicle,filled grains per panicle,1000-grain weight,were effected by general combining ability,grain weight per plant was effected by specific combining ability,general combining ability and specific combining ability of grains per plant were similar.general combining ability effects of steriling lines 552A for total grains per panicle,filled grains per panicle grain weight per plant etc were bigger,general combining ability effects of restorer lines FR796、2002FR24 for total grains per panicle,filled grains per panicle,grain weight per plant were bigger.
