Study on ruthenium ammonia synthesis catalyst supported on MgO

The support, promoter and preparation methods of ruthenium ammonia synthesis catalyst supported on MgO were studied. It is found that the catalyst's activity increased with the increase of the MgO surface area and pore volume and decreased with the increase of the pore diameter. Among the promoters used Barium is the best, and the optium mole ratio of Ba:Ru is 11. During impregnation, RuCl\-3 and MgO have strong interaction, and the interaction is good for ruthenium disperse. Filtrating the sample after RuCl\-3 was impregnated, and washing the filter cake with deionized water can effectively remove Cl\+- and increase catalyst activity.
