Study on preparation condition of ru-based ammonia synthesis catalyst

The ruthenium catalyst supported on active carbon was prepared by the method of impregnation. Ammonia synthesis over the catalyst was performed under the condition of 10 MPa, 400~425 ℃, and space velocity of 100 00 h~(-1) with synthesis gas of N_2∶H_2 (1∶3). The effect of various factors on the activity and Ru dispersion are studied through the analyses of the preparation technology and property of Ru catalyst .It is found that during the soak adsorption, in order to attain good Ru absorption, should select suitable impregnation time need above 18 h. During the preparation of the catalyst the reduction temperature should not be too high or too low, otherwise it would bring bad affections to ammonia synthesis, reduction time should controlled above 18 h and H_2 flow about 90 ml/min.
