Photocatalytic performance of TiO_2 modifiedby doped transiti on metal Fe~(3+) ion

The photocatalytic performance of TiO_2 modified with transition metal Fe(3+) ion was reviewed. The potential effect, electric charge, radius, formation of electronic orbit and different concentration of Fe(3+) and preparation methods on photocatalytic performance of the catalysts were discussed. It was overviewed the potential applicability of the technology in its further study. Through doping transition meatl Fe~\{3+\} ion into photocatalysis TiO_2, the spectral band width was enlarged to visible region and the reaction of electron and hole was inhibited. The photocatalytic efficiency was improved and the solar energy could be used directly. During the course of investigation, some defects about photocatalysis TiO_2 modified by doped transition metal Fe~\{3+\} ion were found, such as the concrete mechanism of doped transition metal Fe~\{3+\} ion was unknown, the photo-quantum efficency was low, the recovery was difficult and et al. Preparing the supported nanometer modified TiO_2 by using Sol-Gel method and the noninsulated substrate is one of the studying hot spots. The supported photocatalysis is more convenient to reclaim and can be recycled.
