Pollution Assessment and Source Analysis of Heavy Metals in Atmospheric Deposition in Suzhou Coal Mine Area

To recognize the pollution situation and sources of heavy metals in atmospheric deposition in Suzhou coal mine area,the contamination levels of eight elements(Cu,Pb,Zn,Cr,Cd,As,Mn and Fe) were assessed by the index of Enrichment Factor(EF),and then the sources of these elements were revealed based on the methods of correlation analysis and principal component analysis.The results showed that:the average concentrations of Cu,Pb,Zn,Cd and As were higher than the soil background of Anhui province,while Cr,Mn and Fe were reverse;Cd belonged to significant pollution level with the highest EF value of 9.02,Cu and As was intermediately polluted,and the other elements were between no pollution and weak pollution;Cd and As mainly came from the human activities related to coal exploitation and consumption,Cu,Pb and Zn were obviously influenced by transportation of larger vehicles,and Cr,Mn and Fe were from the surface soil particulates.
