Effect of Different Treatments on Seed Germination of Indigofera pseudotinctoria

Experiment on effect of different treatments on seed germination of Indigofera pseudotinctoria showed that seed soaking in water at 60℃,70℃,and 80℃ could significantly improve germination energy,index and vigor index.However,the germinating situation was far worse than the contract when the temperature exceeded 90℃.Seed soaking in alkaline solution had no great effect on germination,but had relatively better effect when pH = 9.Seed soaking in 98% H2SO4 solution during 20 minutes showed the best result in acid treatments,with the highest value of seed germination rate,germination energy and index,vigor index.Determination on seed viability and hardness demonstrated that seed hardness was the main reason for low germination rate.
