Characteristics of Soil Organic Carbon and Its Relationship with Nutrients in Different Aged Pinus massoniana Plantation Stands

Five different aged P.massoniana plantations were selected for study on soil organic carbon content,carbon storage,relation between organic carbon with pH and nutrients such as NPK.The results showed that carbon content and carbon storage at each soil layer increased with the age of plantation.The carbon storage of 8,12,18,22 and 30-year stands were 151.62,177.64,201.19,216.19,331.60 t/ha respectively.The carbon content and carbon storage decreased with soil depth in same aged plantation,which were 0-20 cm 20-40 cm 40-60 cm.There was a significantly relation between organic carbon with NPK,but not evident with pH.
