Application of Cell Engineering in Breeding of Male Sterile Lines in Rice

Cell engineering can be used to raise plant breeding level,and it can create male sterility resources and pave a way for acquirement of elite maintainers for male sterile lines.This paper summarized the research progresses of cell engineering applied in breeding of male sterile lines in rice from such aspects as anther culture,embryo culture,somatic hybridization and somatic mutation.
