Realization of Fine Grain Quality Certainly Being the Way to Develope Hybrid Rice

According to the state of more people with less land in our country,the inevitability of develop-ing hybrid rice with fine quality was demonstrated.Together with the colleagues,we have bred a lot of male-sterile line,restorer lines and hybrid combinations with fine quality for more than ten years.Identified andchosen through public appraisals in 1992 and 1993,a batch of hybrid combintions with the grain quality thesame as and the yield twice as high as those conventional varieties with fine grain quality have been developedby us.The direction of developing hybrid rice and the experiences of breeding fine quality hybrid rice were also discussed.
