Study on particle size distribution of clay mineral and sandstone by fractal geometry

He Cheng-Zu and Hua Ming-Qi, Chengdu Science & Technology Institute, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province  
The two-parameter expression for the particle size distribution were derived by fractal geometry method. It is shown that the fractal parameters of clay mineral and sandstone, their change caused by some reagent and acidizing treatment can be calculated according to this expression by cacu-lating some informations about particle distribution. The fractal parameters of particle size is useful for the study of formation of sandstone, mud property, water sensitivity and acid sensitivity.
