The study on quality of life in the old patients with type 2 Diabetes Millitus and its influencing factors

Objective To assess the Quality of life in the old patients with type 2 DM and its influen cing factors. Methods 145 cases of type 2 DM were survey ed and their quality of life were evaluated with GQOL-74,its influencing facto rs were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis Test and Stepwise Regression.Resu lts The level of quality of life of the old patients was decreased generally,dysfunction of physical dimension was the most serious than that of o thers .Social factors,medical factors and syndromes significantly affected the Q OL.Conclusions Showing loving care for the old patient wi th low income in the city and establishing preferential medical policy contribut e to improve their QOL;Old patients should have their blood pressure measured re gularly , and to control the blood pressure should be the one of important measu res to prevent and treat type 2 DM;The study on TCM syndromes and QOL helps to b ring about a better therapeutic efficiency and improve the old patients’quality of life.
