Study on the role of the c-fos in development of the inner ear of the mouse

The expression of c fos oncoprotion in the development of mouse inner ear was studied using immunohistochemical technique(LSAB method) The results showed that the c fos oncoprotion was strongly expressed not only in the sensory epithelia and supporting cells of cochlea but also in the stria vasularis,Reissner's membrance,spiral ganglion neurons in the period from E15 to E17,c fos oncoprotion was also expressed in sensory epithelia of vestibular maculae and ampular crista in the same period The epithelia of inner ear and spiral ganglion neurons have differentiated apparently in the period from E15 to E17 It indiated that c fos had participated in the process of inner ear development The c fos may mainly promote the differentiation of the sensors in the development of the mouse inner ear It is necessary to study whether the c fos participate in the process of regeneration of hair cells in the inner ear
