Methods: 220 newborns of normal birth were selected as the observation samples. The effects of three nursing methods( the umbilical cord average shedding time, the incidence rate of umbilical cord bleeding and the incidence rate of omphalitis) were compared, including the conventional umbilical nursing care, umbilical cord roll bandaging, umbilical care and secondary broken umbilical nursing. Results: The secondary broken umbilical nursing performed best, and there were significantly statistical differences among it and other two methods.
