A Method of Structural Damage Diagnosis Based on Wavelet Energy Cross Entropy under Ambient Excitation

The structural response under ambient excitation is a stochastic process.When damage occurs,the response will change,so do the stochastic process.Then the parameters demonstrating the characteristics of stochastic process can be recommended to evaluate the state of structure.Entropy is such a suitable measurement of stochastic process uncertainty,no matter for Gaussian distributed data or for non-Gaussian distributed data.According to those principles,the concept of wavelet energy cross-entropy is proposed based on the techniques of wavelet decomposition,then it is served as an index for damage diagnosis under ambient excitation.The method is tested on the model designed by ANSYS,then the acceleration response acquired is decomposed by the wavelet,different wavelet energy cross-entropy under operational conditions is acquired.The results confirm its effectiveness.
