Mature features of wine grapes in Heyang region of Shaanxi province

The changes of soluble solids, reducing sugars, total acid contents and mature coefficient of five red wine grape varieties and five white wine grape varieties during maturation were studied. The physical quality, as well as the composition and content of anthocyanins and monomeric phenols of the mature grape berries were further analyzed. The results showed that the mature coefficient of each wine grape variety all reached up to 20 after veraison 12 d. The reducing sugar content of the mature grape berries of each variety was 180-235 g/L and the total acid content was less than 6 g/L. Comprehensively, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Marselan, Ecolly, Petit Manseng and Italian Riesling were suitable for planting in Heyang. The optimum harvest time of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Marselan and Italian Riesling were at 24 d after veraison, while for Ecolly and Petit Manseng were 44 d after veraison. The anthocyanin content of Marselan mature berries was 29.85 mg/g. The monomeric phenol content for the mature berries of Cabernet Sauvignon, Marselan and Ecolly were 0.65 mg/g, 0.43 mg/g and 0.26 mg/g, respectively. These results could provide a reference for the cultivation of wine grapes in Heyang of Shaanxi province.
