Study of the Biomass and Productivity of Mature Chinese Fir Stand in Huitong County

To research the character quantitatively of the biomass and productivity of Chinese fir plantation at its maturation period, so that to improve the technical measure to heighten its productivity, and to provide a basis to cultivate Chinese fir plantation reasonably , based on the data collected from an experimental forest of the position observation station at Huitong, Hunan, the dynamics of the biomass and productivity of 31 year old Chinese fir plantation have been studied by using the determining method of sampling on classification. According to the observation data of standard plot and the analyzed data of interior work, the models of estimating the biomass of each organ of the Chinese fir have been established. By using the models, the biomass and productivity of the 31 year old Chinese fir plantation have been determined and analyzed. The results show that the biomass of the 31 year old Chinese fir plantation is 186.973 t·hm -2 , while the existing density of the stand is 1560 trees·hm -2 . The distributing sequence of the biomass of the plantation ecosystem is that tree stratumshrubdead litterunderstorey herb,and the distributing sequence of the organic biomass of the tree is that trunkrootbarkbranchleaf.
