Application of fusion algorithms of SPOT-5 remote sensing images in information extraction of Dendrolimus punctatus damage

With the development of remote sensing monitoring forest diseases and insects,the application of SPOT-5 data were extensive used for its advantages.Shaxian County of Fujian Province was chosen as study area in this paper.By adopting the principles of image fusion methods,taking the multi-spectral images of SPOT-5 as data sources,and applying the commonly-used fusion methods such as IHS transformation,PCA resolution,Brovey transformation,multiplicative and HPF resolution,the Dendrolimus punctatus damages were analyzed and evaluated from the angles of enhancing spatial resolution and maintaining original image's spectral information and obtaining damages information.The results show that of the five fusion methods,HPF resolution had the best quality both in the spectral quality and the spatial quality.
