Combustibility analysis of inflammable matters of major herb species in Heilongjiang province:Ⅰ.ash content and burning velocity

An experiment was conducted to measure ash content and combustion velocity of main herbal species in Heilongjiang Province by using SX2-10-13 muffle furnace and electric oven.The differences of ash content and combustion velocity among different herbal species fuels,among the herb inflammable matters within the same family and the plant fuels among different families were investigated respectively,as well as the causes of leading the differences.The results of comprehensive analysis of the ash content and the combustion velocity show that among the 20 herbal species,the ash content(25.48%) of Chenopodium album L.was the highest but its combustion velocity(0.723 4 s) was the slowest,its fire resistance was the best of the 20 herbal fuels;and the Thalictrum aquilegifolium L.var.sibiricum Regel was the worst fire resistance herbal species,its ash content(4.85%) was the lowest,and its combustion velocity(0.113 5 s) was the fastest of all the herbal fuels.The analyses results of the herbs fuels ash content and the combustion velocity between the different branches of the herbal species show that there was no fixed rule between the herbs fuels ash content and combustion velocity,but there was a negative correlation between the ash content and the combustion velocity.
