Analysis of Genetic Diversity of New Rice Combinations Under the Regional Trials of Chongqing by SSR Markers

Breed genetic diversity evaluation can be objectively and comprehensive understanding of the current rice breeding status and germplasm base. For understanding the genetic diversity of new rice combinations under the regional traits of Chongqing, the genetic diversity of 22 rice combinations was analyzed with SSR markers. The results showed that using 19 pairs of SSR primers 44 alleles were detected with an average of 2.3 alleles per locus. The largest genetic distance within the combinations was 0.47, the minimal distance was 0.09. Cluster analysis indicated that, at the genetic distance of 0.34, 22 tested rice combinations were classified into three groups, in which 18 combinations were in group Ⅰ, 3 combinations were in group Ⅱ, and only 1 combination was in group Ⅲ. The results indicated that there were some differences of the genetic diversity between the new combinations and the control, and the rice genetic improvement progressed. However, generally speaking, the genetic background comparability was high and the diversity was low. Therefore, identifying and making use of the new genetic resources and creating breeding materials should be strengthened.
