Effect on Physiology and Yield of Rice Machine-Transplanted Seedling: Fertilizer Amounts at Different Seedling Stages

We analyzed machine-transplanted seedling quality and nutrient absorption under differentfertilizer amounts, to clarify the nutritious need for nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium of machine-transplanted seedling and provide basis for breeding strong seedling and high yield of rice. We selected aseedling fertilizer recommended by Jiangsu Province Agricultural Technology Extension Station, the‘SeedlingPartner', as nutrient gradient regulator, studied the growth of rice machine-transplanted seedling under fivefertilizer treatments: no fertilizer(NF), low fertilizer(LF), moderate fertilizer(MF), slightly over fertilizer(SOF)and over fertilizer(OF). The results showed that:(1) fertilization directly increased the soil nutrients, MF wasbeneficial to strong seedling, could reduce the loss of nutrient and improve nutrient utilization;(2) seedling hadhigher demand for nitrogen, phosphorus than potassium, OF was harm to strong seedling because of excessive nutrient accumulation;(3) in transplanting stage, root length, root diameter, root surface area, root volume of LFprocessing was increased by 25.59%, 19.31%, 44.44%, 27.13%, respectively, compared with OF processing,generally, MF treatment could produce suitable root packing force, which was more conducive to machinerytransplanting;(4) GS, GOGAT, GOT, GPT activity of the aboveground part was more active than those of root,with addition of fertilizer, GS, GOGAT, GOT activity of the aboveground part increased but GS, GOGAT, GPTactivity of root firstly increased then decreased, peaks appeared in LF and MF, respectively. An appropriateamount of fertilizer is helpful for ammonia conversion and nitrogen metabolism, could produce strong seedlingfor machinery transplanting, and then obtain stable and high yield after seedlings transplanted into field.
