Classification of Two DH Groups Using Morphological Character Index and Isozyme

Classification of two DH groups derived from indica/japonica crosses using morphological character index and isozyme Pj value indicated that two DH groups were all of continuous distribution from indica to japonica. Most of DH lines were intermediate type. The gene diversity and non random association of two DH groups showed larger mean gene diversity and smaller non random association (R 2 value). This suggested that the exchange and recombination of indica and japonica genome would increase the mean gene diversity and decrease the non random association R 2 value. Type correlation analysis on 6 morphological characters and 8 isozyme markers suggested that the two classifications had close relationship. The correlation analysis of morphological character index, isozyme Pj value and genome ratio based on two DH groups indicated that there was significant or extremely significant correlation between morphological trait index and isozyme Pj value and genome ratio. This suggested that the DH lines showing indica morphology and indica type isozyme band were mainly caused by the genome component provided by indica type parent.
