XIE Yanfeng,et al(Department of Neurosurgery, the First Affiliated Hospital,Chongqing Medical University)
Objective: To assess the effects of nootropics oxiracetam on mild and moderate brain injure by neuroelectriphisilogy test. Methods: A study of randomised double-blind contrast test was performed with piracetam as contrast medicine.48 consecutive patients with either mild or moderate brain injury were randomly assigned to either oxiracetam group or piracetam group with 24 cases in each group. The recordings of qEEG and P300 were obtained before administration of the agents and 21 days after the treatment. The differences in qEEG and P300 before and after medication were analyzed statistically and effects of the two medicines on qEEG and P300 were compared. Results: The significant improvement in qEEG and P300 was found in both groups after treatment(P0.05).The effect of oxiracetam on qEEG and P300 was more significant than that of paracetam(P0.05).Conclusion: Oxiracetam can distinctly improve the brain function of the mild and moderate brain injure, and have better efficacy than piracetam.
