Experimental study on the effect of proliferation and differentiation ofK562 cell treated with TSPG

By using cell culture ex.vivo, flow cytometry (FCM), morphological observation, cytochemistry and immunocytochemistry, the effects of Total Saponins of Panax Ginseng (TSPG) on proliferation and differentiation of K562 cells were studied. The results indicated that TBPG. could markedly inhibit the proliferation of K562 cells , block K562 cells entering the active proliferative phase (G2/M+S), and promote K562 cells to differentiate toward the mature blood cell. Our experiment also showed that after induced by TSPG, the ratio of positive K562 cells of expressing HIR2 CDw4t, glycogen, benzidine stain is obviously higher than that of control,Combining with our previous reasearcb works, we infer that TSPG may be one of the natural inducers which can not only enhance normal hematopoiesis, but also inhibit proliferation of such cancer cells as leukemia cells, and induce differentiation of these cells. The mechanism should be continually studied.
