ELIMINATION OF DRUG RESISTANCE PLASMIDS FROM SALMONELLA TYPHIMURIUM BY NORFLOXACIN IN VITRO

Aim Study the possibility of eliminating drug resistance plasmids from Salmonellatyphimuri-um by norfloxacin. Methods The test for eliminating drug resistance plasmids was performed in vitro bynor-floxacin in S. typhimurium with multiresistant drug plasmids. Results Drug resistance plasmids were cured in13 of 18 strains of S. typhimurium,cured rate was 72. 2%. The cured ranges and rates of drug resistanceplas-mids varied significantly in different strains. 2-- 11 kinds of phenotypes of drug resistance lost in 13 strains. Thecured rates of drug resistance plasmids mediating aminoglycosides .furans.cotrimoxazole .chloramphenicol andte-tracyclin were higher than that of plasmids mediating 6--lactams and the new generation antibiotics. The curedrate of r plasmid was higher than that of R plasmid. Conclusion Norfloxilcin is on effective and safe drug invivo, which treats infection of salmonella typhimurium with serious drug resistance and cures drug resistanceplasmids from S. typhimurium in some extent as well.
