A DECISION MAKING SYSTEM BASED ONGIS FOR FOREST FIREFIGHTING

By the combination of Geographical Information System (GIS) and fire behaviormathematical models, a decision making system are developed to predict the status of a spreadingfire under the complex conditions of topography, meteorology and vegetation in forest area. Consideringthe predicition results, it also can provide a technical plan for fireline construction optimized by theGIS techniques.
