Ground motion attenuation relationship of soil surface under moderate earthquakes in west region of Jilin Province

The recordings of ground motion in 2013 Qianguo Ms5. 8 earthquake sequences in Jilin Province were collected and sorted out,their routine process was conducted,abnormal recordings were rejected and the distribution characteristics of peak acceleration were analyzed. The acceleration response spectra of normal records were calculated. Using the least square method,the attenuation relationships of horizontal and vertical soil surface acceleration spectra with 20 periods for west region of Jilin Province were provided. The attenuation characteristics were compared with the existing China-East past attenuation relationships and the peak acceleration attenuation relationship was verified. The results show that the obtained attenuation relationships of seismic surface motion in western region of Jilin Province are significantly lower than the corresponding China-East attenuation relationships.
