An Investigation on University Teachers' Occupational Career from the Person-organization Fit Perspective

Li Ye;Guanghua School of Management, Peking University;  
Based on the supplementary fit and complementary fit, as two dimensions derived from the person–organization fit theory literature, this paper identifies three forms of mismatch between university teachers and universities, including value incongruence, personality–organizational climate mismatch, goal incongruence. This paper addresses the influence of person–organization unfit on university teachers' external and internal occupational career development. Practical implications and advices are further discussed.
