Familial Variables and Ego Identity Statuses of Adolescents

XU Cun(School of Psychology,Huazhong Normal University,Wuhan 430079,China)  
Erikson first conceptualized ego identity and Marcia expanded this concept and constructed four identity statuses.Since then volumes of relevant researches have been made on ego identity.Especially in recent decades,many studies have focused on the relationship between identity formation and familial variables of adolescents.The thesis summarizes related studies home and abroad,including parent,adolescent communication,parenting style and so on,before pointing out indications for future research.
