Surgical treatment under endoscope for 15 cases of hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage.

Objective To evaluate the results of endoscopic surgery for hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage.Methods Fifteen cases of hypertensive intracerebral haematoma were evacuated with a new type endoscope designed and made by the authors.Results Complete evacuation of haematoma was achieved in 7 cases,partial evacuation in 8.All patients were followed up for 6 to 24 months.According to GOS,the result was excellent in 4 cases,good in 8,fare,poor and dead in 1 respectively.Excellent and good recovery rate reached 12/15.Conclusions The advantages of endoscopic surgery for the evacuation of hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage are direct vision and hemostatis.Endoscopic surgery is one of the minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage.
