Objective To understand the status of foodborne Bacillus cereus virulence genes in Honghe prefecture. Methods Ten virulence genes of Bacillus cereus which were collected from Jan 2011 to Sep 2014 in Honghe prefecture were detected by polymerase chain reaction. Results The strains of Bacillus cereus generally carried enterotoxin gene. All of the strains carried at least one enterotoxin gene. Only one strains carried emetic toxin gene.
