Studies on Antagonism and Ways of Electroacupuncture on Inhibition of Gastric Peristalsis Induced by Alpha 2 Adrenoreceptor Agonists in Rabbits

Gastric peristalsis was continuously recorded from a miniature ballon (1ml) placed into the stomach in rabbits.There were two wave types of gastric contraction,one was the single wave,the other was the cluster wave.Through animal test it was proved that electroacupuncturing acupoint “zu san li” was able to regulate the function of stomach in two ways under normal conditions.The i.v.administration of “Jing song ling”0.025mg/kg of body weight or 0.05mg/kg of body weight depressed the gastric peristalsis for about 4.16minutes or 14.44 minutes respectively.In the presence of xylazine at dosage 0.05mg/kg of body weight i.v.or 0.7mg/kg of body weight i.v.,the gastric peristalsis was depressed for about 6.03minutes or 9.77minutes respectively.Administration of low dosage of xylazine (0.025mg/kg of body weight i.v.) had no significant effect on the gastric peristalsis.The results indicated that the higher the dosage of drugs,the stronger the depressant ability of drugs to the gastic peristalsis,and that the depressant ability of “Jing song ling”was stronger than that of xylazine at the same dosage.Electroacupuncturing acupoint “zu san li” could significantly shorten the time effect induced by “Jing song ling”(0.05mg/kg i.v.) or xylazine (0.7mg/kg i.v.).After treating the animals with atropine,propranolol,chlor trimeton and prazosin respectively,“Jing song ling”(0.05mg/kg i.v.) and acupuncture were given.The results showed that the effect of electroacupuncture was significantly antagonized by atropine,chlor trimeton and prazosin,but not by propranolol.It indicated that the effect of electroacupuncturing acupoint “zu san li” might be mediated by M receptor,H1 receptor and α 1 receptor,but hat no significant relation to β receptor.
