STUDY ON THE COLORIFIC BIOTYPES OF GREEN PEACH APHID

Wang Maotao Zhang Xiaoxi(Department of Plant Protection,Nanjing Agricultural University,Nanjing)
According to the body colours, the green peach aphid,Myzuspersicae (Sulzer),were divided into three colorific biotypes,i.e.yellow-green-,red-,and brown-biotype.The proportions of these threebiotypes under different natural conditions were investigated and theirmorphology, intrinsic rates of increase γ_m,undercooling points, pulsative rates of cardiovascular as well as their adaptabilities to dif-ferent temperatures were examined and compared. The results showedthat there were morphological differences and distinct temperatureadaptabilities among the three biotypes,In which, the brown biotype wasmost tolerant to high and low temperature, but its γ_m value in optimumtemperture 15—25℃ was lowest.Contrarily, the tolerant temperaturerange of yellow-green biotype was the smallest, while its γ_m value under15—25℃ was highest;and the both of red biotype was in the middle.
