Studies on the spatial pattern and sampling method of verticillium wilt on eggplant.

Guo Yan Yang Zhiwei (Department of Plant Protection, Northwest Agriculture University, Yangling,Shaangxi 712100)
The spatial pattern and sampling methods of verticillium wilt on eggplant were studied. Tests of monitoring pathogen inoculum in soil samples indicated that the amount of microsclerotia in soil and the disease incidence were significantly correlative. The amount of microsclerotia in heavily infested field was higher than in light infested field. The spatial pattern of inoculum of microsclerotia in eggplant fields was recognized by the analysis of aggregation index. Results demonstrate that the spatial pattern of microsclerotia was fitted to the aggregation distribution when microsclenotia at the range of 8.63-39.97 sclerotium/g dry soil. The sampling method on the chessboard style was most suitable.
